It’s almost here! Summer is just around the corner and we can’t WAIT to hang out with your kids! The Landing Community Center is proud to present our 4th summer of outstanding day camps to serve Eagle and the surrounding community. Check out our Summer Day Camp registration page for all the info, or give Jessie a call @ (208) 939-4850.

For the Summer Day Camp (1st-5th graders) go to Youth Programs, then click on the Summer Day Camp Registration page.

Morning CoffeeDo you ever have parenting questions? Do you ever wonder why your kids won’t go to bed, why they hit when they’re mad, or why they seem to always make homework a big fight?

Great news- you can get FREE PARENTING HELP every Monday at Rembrandts Coffee House in Eagle, ID.

 Join Nate Hamlin, registered counselor, for free parenting advice, a welcoming forum with other parents, and (of course) delicious fair-trade coffee!

Head down to Rembrandts any Monday from 9-11 a.m. to meet some great people and get some great advice.

Wednesday, April 21 from 5:00-6:30 p.m.

We invite anyone and everyone to come “Play Together” at The Landing’s monthly Family Night. Bring your kids and an ice-cream topping to share- a cheap and fun way to encourage family fun! :) See you there!

FREE Child Safety Day…May 8!

Parents! Do you ever worry about your children? In this day and age it seems there is no end to things we can worry about. The Landing Community Center understands this and has a great FREE event for you and your kids! 

The Eagle Optimists Club and The Landing are proud to present 

Child Safety Day 

Saturday, May 8 2010 

2-4 p.m. 

  

Bring your kids and their bicycles to The Landing for a fun FREE afternoon of safety tips, including:

  • Personal Safety- Get a FREE child ID kit, fingerprinting done by The Eagle Police Department!
  • Bicycle Safety- Bring your bike down to ride through the bike rodeo!
  • Fire Prevention- Presented by The Eagle Fire Department!
  • Personal Defense- get a FREE lesson in personal defense from Colberg’s ATA Martial Arts Center!

GWYLWhy we love The Landing: From one of our Family’s
We choose to support the Landing Community Center because there is no other organization that has had a greater impact on our local community of Eagle.  It was important for us to see our time and financial support go directly to benefit the community we live in.

We have seen the Landing Community Center benefit our community in a number of ways:

  • Providing our youth an opportunity to learn leadership skills through service to the community (seniors, Eagle Food Bank)
  • Providing children and teens a safe and fun place to build positive relationships through their summer and after school programs.  Our children attend the summer program each year and we know first hand that there is no better program in the community. Read the rest…

Jessie ’s Blog: Building Up Community

decEvery once in awhile, we get to see a picture of how very connected we all truly are in this world. It is so easy to get caught up in our own lives and forget what power for good we all have and at The Landing we love to provide opportunities for connection.

One way to serve the community is to be a friend to the senior citizens. This holiday season the kids at The Landing AfterSchool Program decided to host a Christmas Party for the retirement center up the street. The kids planned the party, signed up to bring the treats, and invited the senior citizens. The Landing bus picked up a group of seniors and brought them down for a night full of games, singing, food and friendship. Read the rest…
